The grounds are immaculately kept and perfect for letting young children run around and the secure public park is right beside the houses.

The Waterfront house is a lovely private development of 4* holiday homes located in the heart of Carrick on Shannon with its wonderful selection of Restaurants, traditional Pubs and craft shops this is the ideal choice for your holiday, both in terms of the style of accommodation and Leitrim being the perfect location.  Carrick on Shannon was awarded for the first time in 2015 the prestigious Purple Flag which is the ‘gold standard’ accreditation scheme that recognises town and city centres as safe, welcoming places for residents and visitors alike.

The Accommodation

Each of these bright and spacious self-catering homes can accommodate 10-12  people in one triple bedroom  with a double and single bed (en-suite and sleeps 3)  and one triple bedroom with three single beds (sleeps 3 with a separate bathroom) and one large top floor bedroom with four single beds (sleeps 4 with en-suite ). There is also a guest toilet downstairs.  Each of the bedrooms has more than adequate storage space. Please note that each house is set as a one double and single bedroom, one triple bedroom with single beds and one studio bedroom with four single beds.

Please specify prior to arrival if you require a different setup. The open plan living/ dining room cum kitchen is particularly comfortable and has been stylishly furnished with all your comforts in mind.  There is a colour “42” TV along with a cosy fireplace containing an electric fire. The kitchen has been fitted with all the modern conveniences including washer/ dryer, dishwasher, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you would require. Doors lead from this area outside to the secure patio area with outdoor furniture and barbecue. An immense array of activities and interests, invigorating or relaxing, are at your disposal to ensure your visit to the Leitrim leaves you with pleasant and fulfilled memories of your stay.

The Waterfront Holiday Homes are heated with gold shield electric heating and there is an electric fireplace in the sitting room.  All bed linen is supplied – bed linen is crisp and clean and 100% white cotton. Towels are supplied
PLEASE NOTE:
Electricity for heating and lighting is an extra charge and is payable on departure.  Electricity is charged at the daily rate of €7.00 per day from Sept-May inc and €5.00 per day for June, July and August.

Each house has private parking for up to 2 cars.

PETS

Pets are allowed at the waterfront on certain T&C’S however kennels are available locally in Carrick on Shannon.

Strollers for Rent

If you can’t fit your stroller (buggy) into your car you can rent one from us.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Kenmare lies approximately 30 minutes’ drive from a host of sandy beaches and it has a very pretty harbour from where you can swim, fish or take a trip on the “Seafari Cruise” to view the wildlife in the area.

Bike Hire

Located in Leitrim Village about 5 mins away is ELECTRIC BIKE TRAILS   where you can hire a full range of regular bicycles, electric bicycles, children’s bicycles, child arts, child seats, tandems and even a 3 wheel bicycle

Lough Key Forest Park:

Lough Key Forest Park is located in an area of great historical interest and is comprised of vast woodland numerous islands. There is reference to Castle Island in the annals of Lough Ce as early as 1184. During this time the park was called Moylurg and the Kings of Moylurg were the McDermotts. Take time to explore many of the Park’s unique, natural and historical features from its 19th century parkland with majestic trees, follies, bridges and canals to the numerous walks and trails through the native woodlands, Bog garden and forests.

Golf

The Golf Club is situated on the outskirts of the town of Carrick-on-Shannon – the cruising capital of Ireland. The golf course, a parkland course constructed to the highest USGA specifications, is located by the banks of the Shannon, patrolled by the Argina Mountains and is simply spectacular. It is an ideal location for your golf outing, be it a sociable fourball, society or corporate outing.

It is an excellent 18-hole course with delightful diversity of scenery. The new nine holes were built on land that sweeps down to Drumharlow Lake and the Boyle River creating some spectacular views of the lake and river. The location of the new nine holes is magnificent. Some 12 acres of marshland were preserved and integrated into the design, creating some wonderful holes and generating some anxiety when one has to play over it. The old nine holes are set in mature parkland under the revised layout will constitute the first five holes and last four holes of the 18 holes. guests may avail of special discounted green fees.

Angling

Carrick on Shannon located in the Upper Shannon Region in Co Leitrim is a major angling centre which is very well serviced with quality and specialist accommodation and tackle stores.

Hill Walking

Leitrim constantly changing landscape offers endless and spectacular variety to the walker: mountains raise out of the surrounding plain, magnificent lakeland vistas suddenly emerge round a ridge, glacial valleys and deep beautiful glens forged by tumbling rivers appear and disappear as the walker passes through a region largely untouched by industrial pollution and urban sprawl. All of this is set amidst the prevailing presence of ancient tombs, churches, monasteries, castles and other antiquities.

Pony Trekking

Pony Trekking is the ideal way to explore the hidden treasures of Leitrim and its hinterland.  Professional lessons are also available for beginners.Speak to Philip and he will be happy to sort any horse related activity to suit you and your group.

Cruising

The rivers Shannon and Erne are the two main river systems in Ireland are linked by the recently restored Shannon Erne Waterway which provides 750km of cruising waterway. Carrick-on-Shannon, the county town of Leitrim is the cruising capital of the river Shannon and the town boasts a beautiful modern marina and is the most northerly hire base on the Shannon. The marina is located directly in front of your accommodation and speak to Philip about bring a boat for your stay.

Carrick on Shannon

Built on the river Shannon, this is both the county town of Leitrim and the cruising capital of the Shannon. Carrick-on-Shannon or Carrick is a thriving centre. It boasts a beautiful modern marina and is the most northerly hire base on the Shannon. It is widely acknowledged as an angler’s paradise and within a 10km radius of the town there are no fewer than 41 lakes. The town itself is steeped in history and visitors are recommended to take a walk through the town to discover its interesting historical buildings, Carrick-on-Shannon offers a wide variety of night-time entertainment and boasts many talented musicians, providing lively sessions in local hostelries.
